For those that follow Parkscope will know about the rumoured Universal Waterpark they announced on Twitter.
Nobody can say Universal Orlando Resort isn’t trying to become top dog in Orlando. The park is spending money like its going out of fashion.
The latest rumors about the home of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is that the theme park owner may be building a new onsite water park at the Universal Orlando Resort.
If true, this would be the latest of a string of big investments Universal is making to stay at the forefront of tourists’ minds. Walt Disney World still reigns as the top dog when it comes to attendance, but Universal has come a long way in assuring that they can compete and keep guests happy and coming back time and time again.
The company already has shown growth at both its local parks Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
The park has yet to announce anything in the realm of a water park, it does have Wet ‘n Wild in its portfolio already but it would be no small investment. A whole new park gate easily could cost near the billion-dollar mark and probably surpass that if it comes with all the bells and whistles.
A potential water park on top of the new 1,000-room Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and additions to CityWalk are showing that Universal’s parent company, Comcast Corp., didn’t come to the table without ambitions.
So this is the latest in a big rumour mill that’s spilt out of Universal along with :
Sports Bar and Grille
A museum for the 25th Anniversary
Who knows what’s coming next
