Skyplex Given The Green Light During Orange County Commision Meeting
Joshua Wallack has been given the green light to bring his vision to life, during an Orange County Commision Meeting which began at 15:45 and went on for several hours with arguments for and against Skyplex.
Residents from Tangelo Park, business owners from International Drive and home owners from other parts came out in support to bring jobs to their community, One lady who came forward to speak made mention of how she was looking forward to seeing Skyplex get built and the fact Mr Wallack supports giving jobs to people who deserve a second chance, just like she had been given a second chance, support came in droves with only a select few against Skyplex (who shall remain nameless). Chuck Whitall (Unicorp) came out in support of Skyplex and said “entrepreneurs like himself and Mr wallack are whats needed to revamp International Drive” to keep it as the tourist corridor.
Bob from Pixels At The Park, a personal friend of ours took to the podium to inform the Mayor and Commisioners of the petition which had over 5000 signatures to support Skyplex and Mr Wallacks vision for the future of the North I drive area which will bring much needed jobs and tourism into that area.
We shared the link to watch the meeting live as it was happening, although it was a bad feed it was still watchable with laughing and joking aside during the meeting it was nice to see the community pull together in support of Skyplex and those against only furthered the cause to bring Skyplex to Orlando.
After 50+ people stood up to have their say Mayor Teresa Jacobs said “how proud she was to see so many people come out to support this new project” although somewhat of a coaster junkie she may not ride Skyplex. Putting it to the vote it came back unanimous in favour of Skyplex to be built with conditions that were discussed and agreed upon before the meeting.
All thats left to do is congratulate Joshua Wallack, his family and the entire Skyplex team, now lets see this get built and hope to see you all at Skyplex in the future.
*However Universal may just of had the last laugh with talks of them being the ones that bought the land on Universal Boulevard to maybe make a third theme park, let those #3rdgate rumours flow *
